Sweet Lime Socks (free!) Knit with Handmaiden Cashbah sock yarn on size 1 needles (or needles appropriate to gauge). Twisted rib cuff, cable and lace motif with an easy gusset and standard toes.
Bellona Cowl ($4.50 pdf, ravelry download.) Suggested yarns are Colinette Jitterbug or Hazel Knits Artisan Sock, knit on size 3 needles (or needles appropriate to gauge). An incredibly quick knit using dropped stitches and cables, creating a nice drape and a casual fit.
Humping Elephants chart (free!) Get your perv on! this chart is a quick knit perfect for both knit/purl washcloths and intarsia. Perfect for adding some oomph to mittens, hats, scarves, potholders, and even a brave souls sweater.
I love your knit socks–I know how to do the knit and purl stitches–I’ve knitted a couple of sweaters with cables and button holes and ribbing, but I am completely lost when it comes to turning a heel on a sock–do you know of a good pattern with detailed instructions–I have a knitting encyclopedia–it would work well for heel turning if you already know what you are doing–but it leaves a lot unexplained, I think.
Help! I feel like a blithering idiot. I recently acquired a skein of Casbah yarn, and began the sweet lime sock pattern which I’d been saving.
Things went well until the gusset. According to the pattern, I have 42 stitches on the instep needle, but the Cabled Lace 2 pattern only contains instructions for 38 stitches – what happens to the other 4 sts? When the instep decreases are completed, the instructions state I should have 66 sts (2X15 sts + Cabled lace patt), which means that somehow 2 more sts have disappeared from the instep Cabled Lace patt. No matter how I search, I can’t find any mention of when or how to eliminate these excess sts. Where am I going wrong? Please help!

I have sock-envy…so I will be using that lovely ball of Cherry Tree Hill yarn I got on the S.F. Knitcrawl to make my own Sweet Lime Socks.
